I paid an extra $275 to fly business class with Air France. It didn’t live up to my expectations, but I’d do it again.

Flying executive class with Air France disappointed me in some way, but some of the advantages were so great that I would consider doing it again.Louise Slyth

  • My husband and I take executive class flights from Dublin to Paris with Air France.

  • We spend $ 275 each in our updates and enjoy our comfortable seats and meals in flight.

  • We are disappointed by some long lines and a living room under construction, but I still had a good time.

In March, my husband and I made a trip to Paris to celebrate our anniversary.

We reserve two -hour flights outside Dublin with Air France. As it was a special occasion, we treated ourselves to the round trips of the round trip, in total, the update of the economy cost us $ 275 additional per seat.

This is what our experience was to fly in executive class with Air France.

Checking was very easy, but parts of our priority experience in heaven felt like a mixed bag.

One of the advantages of Flying Air France’s executive class was the additional luggage allocation.Louise Slyth

With business class seats, we describe for the SKY priority service, which is intended to help us quickly go through the check-in processes, luggage fall, security and shipping.

In both Dublin and Paris airports, we had to use a dedicated check-in area and luggage deactivation without line.

It was great, in addition to our business class state arrived with a generous allocation of additional luggage, including two sets marked with a maximum weight of 70 pounds per article (compared to 50 in economics).

That said, our experience with Sky Priority was a slightly mixed bag between airports.

Even with our state, it took us a long time to clear security and immigration in Paris. In Dublin, however, Sky Priority helped reduce our waiting time, and we quickly spent security.

Our suitcase was labeled with a priority sticker, which meant that it was one of the first to reach Paris. But in Dublin, we had to wait as it appeared in the carousel after many other pictures.

We have access to the airport halls in Paris and Dublin.

As we were flying the executive class in every way, we were able to access the airport halls in Dublin and Paris.

We had access to terminal 1 lounge at Dublin airport, which had many seats, as well as snacks and light courtesy drinks.

Unfortunately, the dedicated Air France Lounge in Paris was being renewed during our visit. Then, we were aimed at a temporary living room that was a bit dark and scarcely furnished.

On the positive side, we had a lot of food in the Paris Hall.

Although our temporary hall in Paris did not look so good, they still served us an excellent variety of courtesy snacks.

There was a buffet with salad, pasta, meat and cheese, as well as sweets like muffins and small cakes. A variety of tea, coffee, soft drinks, wine and champagne was also available for us to grab it.

The shipping process was more stressful than I expected.

We did not want to get to our doors too early, especially because Sky Priority comes with a priority approach.

Unfortunately, we do not listen to any flight announcement while we are in any of the halls. Although this seems to be an airport caressing standard to maintain a quiet environment, it meant that we were more likely to lose our opportunity to address the plane first.

In Paris, for example, when we arrived at the door at the time of shipping, we were in a long and winding tail with everyone else.

We may have avoided this when we arrive early at the door, but I didn’t want to miss our additional living room time. Anyway, this was not the premium experience we expected.

Fortunately, our seats on both planes were super comfortable.

We had different types of aircraft for our flights, but both had an area of dedicated commercial class seats separate from the main cabin by a curtain.

As it was a short -distance European flight, we did not have elegant seats that become beds. However, we obtained comfortable leather seats with adjustable plates and a lot of legs for the legs.

The main benefit of the executive class was the half -empty seat guaranteed among us, which meant that we had space to extend and we were not crowded next to a stranger in our row.

The food in flight was also excellent.

Our breakfast in flight felt quite elegant.Louise Slyth

We really enjoy our meals on both flights. To start, I like to be served with cloth napkins and suitable cutlery instead of the disposable server.

While we headed from Dublin to Paris, we took a delicious puff pastry breakfast with salmon, yogurt, a croissant with a small jam, coffee and juice.

I appreciated the courtesy bubble too.

For lunch on the way back, we had smoked salmon and couscous with bread and cheese, in addition to a creamy choux cake for dessert.

They offered us a variety of drinks with each meal, including champagne, which helped my lunch feel an improved experience.

Although I think the experience could be improved, Air France’s executive class would fly again again.

The comfortable seats were the highlight of flying with Air France.Louise Slyth

In general, I had a good experience flying in executive class with Air France, but did not reach my expectations in some areas.

I felt the high -end elements of my update in my excellent meals and the stellar service on board. The empty seat between us on each flight made us much more comfortable, and our generous margin of luggage meant that it could pack (and buy) with abandonment during my trip.

I will never say not to a glass of champagne, but when I pay a premium, it is for convenience as much as for luxury. I wish I could have had a more consistently efficient experience addressed, crossing security and collect our luggage.

Although we could have had bad luck on this trip, in general, I have spent a smoother time going through these processes while traveling in executive class in Europe with Finnair, Scandinavian Aerolineas and Aer Lingus.

In addition, Lounge Access is an important part of the business class experience, and the end of Paris was disappointing. However, I have the hope of next time, since the room is no longer under construction, and the photos of improved space are great.

Said all this, it would definitely fly again with Air France. If the price were correct (for example, a few hundred dollars), I would also consider updating your executive class once again.

Something more than that? I will probably save my money.
