British Airways 777 Club Suites Business Class: Pretty Good!

Hello from London, when I started my review trip to Hong Kong. I just flew the executive class of Boeing 777-200ER Club Suites by British Airways, on the 6HR15 minutes flight from Washington (IAD) to London (LHR).

It has been a long time since I flew the long -term executive product of British Airways, and I was eager to review it, especially because the airline has progressed a lot with the launch of its Suites Club product.

So how was the experience? After all, I would describe it as solid. The crew was excellent. The seats are comfortable (although they are no longer avant -garde). The comforts are good. The food is fine. With pleasure this product would fly again, and perhaps apart from the new Air France 777 or A350 business class, it is probably the best European executive class product that is widely available.

In this publication I want to share some initial thoughts, and then I will soon have a complete travel report.

The British Airways Executive Class seats’ 777 are comfortable

The British Airways’ Club Suites executive class should seem familiar, because it is the Sequand Aeroospace’s seat of Collins with Puerta. Super Diamond’s seat is one of the most common executive class products that exist, and a select airline number has now also slapped a door to the product (Etihad has done the same in its A350).

This is ultimately a comfortable and reliable executive class seat.

Now, a couple of things. First, the speed with which seat technology has improved in recent years is definitely remarkable. Club Suites was introduced in 2019, and technology does not feel avant -garde at this time. There is no Bluetooth audio, wireless load, etc.

In addition, the Super Diamond product is good, but it is not as spacious as the new seat of Collins aerospace elements, which will find carriers such as Starux. In particular, the well feels a bit on the tight side, especially if you have a lateral dream.

The good bedding of the white company helped to get comfortable, since it includes a large pillow, a good blanket and a mattress pad (thin). As there were almost 20 empty seats in executive class, I could even take a second pillow from the seat by my side.

Ultimately, this is one of the best hard products that you will find in a European airline, in my opinion, so congratulations to British Airways for that.

Entertainment and British Airways Wi-Fi are good (ISH)

On the positive side, British Airways offers an extensive selection of entertainment in executive class, with a wide variety of films and television programs. The capture is that the system (at least in the almost 30 -year jet that was flying) was super slow. As, when you made a selection of entertainment, the system response was anything but instant.

It is not a big problem at all, but it makes you realize, once again, how much technology has improved in recent years. I think British Airways is updating the entertainment system in many planes, so not everyone will have this problem.

The airline also offers Wi-Fi on board, with free messages for members of the executive club, and a complete Wi-Fi pass without data limits by £ 17.99. The speeds are reasonably good.

British Airways Executive Food is quite decent

I would describe food in the executive class on this flight as edible but immemorial. In the past, I remember having very good food in the executive class of British Airways, given the association with Do & Co, what was once?

Anyway, at this flight dinner was served after takeoff. The service began with some mixed walvas and a drink. I decided to have a glass of sparkling wine. While Castelnau Reserve Brut is the executive class champagne of the carrier, I decided to try Wiston Brut, the English foamy wine in order. I thought I should try to “drink local”, and impressed me.

British Airways Executive Food – Drinks and Nuts

There was an option of three snacks, and I selected the Balik salmon with red potato salad and Asian salad salad, which was tasty, probably the best part of the food. That was served with a salad containing roasted peppers, artichokes and pumpkin seeds, in addition to some bread. He had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc South African to accompany him.

There were three main dishes options, and I chose the Steamed Black Rice fillet, curly hold beets and herbal cream sauce. This was fine, but the fish was a bit insignificant and cooked too much. To be fair, the crew apologized a lot and explained that one of the executive class ovens had broken, so they had to heat it in a different oven. I am not sure if that contributed to the taste.

Finally, there was the option of two desserts, a cheese course or a fruit plate. I chose the pumpkin cheese cake, which was small but tasty.

For breakfast, there was only one option, which was a bacon sandwich scratched and cracked in the grill, with strawberry chia and a banana muffin. Finally I obtained this only for the photo, since not as pork, and I was not hungry a few hours after dinner.

However, I would like there to be a vegetarian option or without pig. I know that Americans and British love their bacon, but that excludes many people (Jewish, Muslim people, love of pigs, etc.). 😉

The British Airways Executive Class Service was excellent

Some people like to call me an enemy of British Airways and suggest that I am unjustly partial. For example, when I flew in the first kind of British Airways’ 777 some time ago, I had a really careless and horrible service. I call things as I see them.

I am pleased to inform that this flight had the opposite polar service. The entire crew could not have been more beautiful. They were friendly and informal while they were still professionals and attentive, and there is nothing that can criticize the service.

The hostess that worked in my section constantly reviewed all passengers, cleaning the plates while people finished their meals, offering drinks of drinks and more. This was a star team. Of course, the challenge is that British Airways is consistently inconsistent, as we have done in airlines in the United States. Sometimes you get a great service, no longer.

End

I had a pleasant flight in the executive class of British Airways’ 777 Club Suites. British Airways has finished modernizing its 777 with these seats, and it is enough to say that it is a massive improvement on the old product of the carrier.

There is nothing in this product that is avant -garde or incredible, although the seats are comfortable and private, the comforts are solid, entertainment is quite good and food is decent. On this flight, I also had a very good service.

I still think that Air France is the best among European carriers in the executive class, but it would certainly take this about what it will currently find in most Lufthansa’s group flights …
