Massive luxury cruise ship arrives in Devon

A huge luxury cruise stopped in Dartmouth after traveling from the Canal Islands. The Le Bellot arrived in southern Devon at 5.45 in this morning, Friday, May 2.

Dartmouth has become a regular scale port for visitors around the world. The historical city is one of the most spectacular ports on the planet. The ships pass between the defenders to enter the narrow but deep estuary, and Moor in the heart of the city, with the impressive Naval Royal College Britany in the top hill.

The Le Bellot was built in 2020, it is the fifth ship in the Explorer class. The cruise, operated by Ponant and Candles under the flag of Wallis and Futuna, a group of the French island in the South Pacific. Le Bellot is named after Joseph René Bellot, a French naval officer and Arctic explorer.

Le Bellot has been specifically designed for comfort. With a capacity for 184 passengers, the 92 cabins and suites on board are equipped with balconies or private terraces.

Tricia Daniels, cruise coordinator for Dart Harbor, said: “The city is familiar with these luxury ships, since we have housed them here during the last summers.”

Meanwhile, La Nave Lyrial, her sister, will visit Devon on May 13. First introduced in 2015 Le Lyrial is the incarnation of a new generation of intimate cruises.

Its exterior and interior lines, all sober and refinement, make it a yacht of a rare and innovative type, says its website. Interior decoration is inspired by the tones and colors of its destinations from polar ice to the Mediterranean.
