Book these Japan Airlines first-class awards using JetBlue points while they last – The Points Guy

Earlier this week, it was possible to exchange points of Jetblue Trueblue for the awards seats in Japan Airlines, opening possible sweet points to travel between the United States and Japan.

Although the availability of awards in the Premium cabins for the first day or so, the new live functionality seemed to be limited within a few days of the game and the business class awards, now it seems that there is a wide availability of first -class awards and, to a lesser extent, Business class seats with jetblue points in the coming months.

As reported for the first time for Roame, it seems that Japan Airlines has opened a lot of award space on his flights to the members of Jetblue Trueblue. The capture is that much of this space is in Premium Cabañas, mostly first class at this time, which requires many Trueblue points.

Some people could also be careful with the transfer of points of an associated program such as American Express Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards by chance that this is an error rate. We were.

However, we tried to reserve a first -class prize and we had no trouble doing it on a flight from Tokyo International Airport to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in June and was processed correctly. We could even log in to the confirmed reserve at the Japan Airlines site and choose our seat, so this seems to be legitimate. That said, consider your own risk tolerance before making transfers or reserve any ticket.

This is what you need to know if you are considering taking this opportunity yourself.

Better flights to book

Although there was a widespread availability of commercial class of several cities today, the vast majority of the premium awards space now seems to be in first class. That is probably exciting for aviation geeks and luxury lovers, but it also means that you will need about three times the amount of Trueblue points as it would for a business class award.

If you want executive class (and who would not, for only 59,000 points in each sense!), Your best options are flying out of Los Angeles or San Francisco now during the summer.

There are also some other considerations. Japan Airlines offers stellar and first class cabins, but there are some important differences to take into account depending on the route and the aircraft to reserve. The airline only flies its Airbus A350-1000 with new and impressive first and class suites between Haneda and New York and Dallas. The other routes listed are included with a variety of other aircraft with older types of seats on board, including Boeing 787-9 with only executive class and 777-300ers with businesses and first class.

So, if you can position New York or Dallas, it is worth experiencing the newest accessories of the airline. The first class of JAL A350-1000 even won the 2024 TPG award for the best first class of the best class thanks to the huge fingerprints of the suites, elegant finishes, updated technology (have you seen those 43-inch entertainment screens?) And services and service of incomparable foods.

Except for that, if you are only looking for an excellent way to travel between the United States and Asia, you can’t really beat JAL for excellent service and comfortable seats.

The best ways to obtain points from Jetblue Trueblue

Jetblue Trueblue is a transfer partner of the following credit card rewards programs in listed relationships:

If you want to transfer points from a partner to your Jetblue Trueblue account, your best bets are Chase or Citi, since your transfer relationship is much better than Amex’s. For example, if I wanted to book a New York Unidirectional Prize to Tokyo, I would need 185,000 Chase or Citi points, but 231,250 AMEX points. So consider it.

Also make sure that the award flight you want is available on the day you want before making transfers because they are irreversible.

End

The Japan Airlines Premium award has been exceptionally difficult to obtain lately by redeeming miles from partner programs. The option of redeeming the points of Jetblue Trueblue on Jal’s flights only entered online earlier this week, and so far, it has been exciting to see the savings awards at affordable prices, even in executive class, available. But this level of availability of commercial and first -class awards on many of Jal’s American routes for several months is simply unprecedented.

It is good to be cautious before the reserve: we do not believe that this is an error rate and we could make a reserve confirmed in first class ourselves to provide the best advice. However, we are talking about many points, especially for those coveted first -class tickets, so before making credit points transfers, be sure to have a specific and reservable prize in mind. And if you end up flying to Jal of first class, it will surely be an unforgettable experience that is worth all those points.
