Jetting off to Japan: Dalmatian flies business class on Singapore Airlines

It is an excellent way to fly: I just ask Spotty, a Dalmatian who flew in the executive class of Singapore Airlines (SIA) to Japan.

A shared video on the Instagram page Spottytheswissdalmatian on February 9 captured with the flight to the Land of the Ascending Sun.

His trip began in an airport hall and, when boarding the plane, it was seen that Spotty was in his best behavior during the five and a half hours flight.

From moving its tail while sitting up to take a fast nap, the four -year -old canine did not seem to show any flight anxiety signal.

The video has captured the attention of many, obtaining more than 5.2 million visits at the time of writing.

In the comments section, Internet users were impressed by Spotty’s calm on the plane.

“(The dog) is behaving better than many humans,” said an Instagram user.

Some others wondered about SIA’s policies about traveling with a dog.

“How did you get the dog in Singapore Airlines? It is allowed in executive class?” He asked an intern.

Responding to the comments, Spotty’s owner said he is a registered service dog or assistance dog.

Flying with dogs

On its website, SIA declared that assistance dogs are accepted to travel aboard their flights.

An assistance dog is trained to perform tasks to help people with disabilities or medical conditions, such as a guide or an auditory dog.

The national carrier added that emotional support dogs, comfort dogs, companion dogs and training dogs are not considered assistance dogs.

Since April 2023, SIA no longer allows passengers to fly with emotional support dogs.
