- I paid around $ 300 and used points to book an executive class flight from Air France from Tbilisi to New York.
- I had access to a living room during my scale, a lie seat and a gift bag full of comfort.
- However, the plane was a bit outdated, and was not a fan of my chicken main dish.
Two years ago, I spent an incredible time in KLM’s executive class and was anxious to treat another improved experience. However, Flying executive class can be expensive, so I always considered it a unique opportunity in life.
So, when I discovered that I could fly from Tbilisi, Georgia, to New York in the Air France executive cabin for about $ 300 after using points and a monthly promotion of the airline, I knew I had to take advantage of the agreement.
Because KLM and Air France are owned by the same parent company, I had high expectations for my flight.
I took the flight in two legs, and I was very excited about my trip from Paris to New York. This is how my experience was during this part of the trip.
I had access to Air France Lounge in Paris
During my scale in Paris, I visited the Air France Lounge at the Charles de Gaulle airport, which I could access as a business class passenger.
Although it was a lounge of decent size, finding a separated place to sit down was a bit difficult. However, he was traveling during the busy summer season, so the crowd made sense.
Once I found a padded seat, I enjoyed natural lighting while filing me with the buffet cakes.
I enjoyed courtesy drinks and clean bath facilities, and time passed quite quickly, given the comfort of not having to wait at the door.
I was grateful for my lie seat, but the plane felt a bit outdated
At the time of my flight, Air France was still working to update its oldest planes. Dasha Kofman
For this flight, I was able to address early as a business class passenger, which was a good benefit.
Once sitting, I admired the lieves seat and looked through my gift bag, which included a mask for the eyes, socks, a toothbrush, moisturizers and headphones.
However, I noticed that the plane was a bit larger: the seats were a bit worn and the TV and headphones seemed outdated.
That said, at the time of my flight, Air France was still in the process of reconfiguring its oldest aircraft with updated and comfortable seats, new TV screens and Bluetooth technology. So, I must have been on an plane that had not yet been updated.
When it was time to eat, I really enjoyed my first course, but I was disappointed by the entrance
The first course presented a lot of excellent options. Dasha Kofman
For my first course, I received a summer salad, a dress of shrimp seasoned with orange and honey vinaigrette and a Butternut-Squash And-Carrot salad.
The food was delicious, and I felt very elegant using real cutlery and a tablecloth in the air. This part of the food was not just good for food by plane: I really enjoyed every dish.
Unfortunately, my main chicken dish disappointed me a little, which came with zucchini and cuscous. I thought the taste was similar to the dishes I get when the economy flys, both in terms of flavor and presentation.
However, the true shows of the show later arrived on the flight: a dish of French cheeses such as snack and a delicious coconut dough-mango.
I saw television and I received a good nap before landing
I saw television before I fell asleep in my lieves seat. Dasha Kofman
After eating too much, it was time for the best part of the flight: get the TV’s screen and lie down at a lie position.
I could fall asleep in minutes, waking up three hours later – Much more time than I have been able to sleep consecutively on an plane.
They woke me up for landing food, which was a brioche with garlic, herbs, cheese and vegetables. In addition, they gave us a last French cake, a financial with fresh fruit.
In general, I had a great experience on my Air France flight
If I could afford, the executive class would always fly, it makes traveling more comfortable and exciting, and it is something that I will never take for granted.
However, in the future, I would choose to take a KLM flight or make sure I was flying on an Air France plane with Improved business class seats.
