Dogs can now embark on a first -class flight, totally adapted to their needs, with Bark Air, a new private jet company that focuses on the second and second dog trips.
Flights work between Los Angeles and New York, as well as in New York and London. Once someone reserves a flight, a janitor extends to learn everything about his puppy, from their energy levels to their allergies.
Josh Groban and his dog George, a Westie, were two of the first passengers to fly to Bark Air and, according to the company, other celebrities and their dogs have also flown, although they refused to share names.
On flights, dogs receive a tasting menu, puppy champagne (also known as organic bone broth, which is said to help their ears fit the altitude changes), blankets with calming pheromones, ears and more. The prices are in line with the strong cost of private jet trips: $ 6,000 in a new way from New York to Los Angeles and $ 8,000 from New York to London.
“You think about each little thing for the dog, both from the point of view of comfort and from the point of view of security,” says Dave Stangle, vice president of brand marketing. He adds: “All our hostesses are trained in CPR and disassembly of dogs and canines.”
The CEO of Stangle and Barkbox, Matt Meeker, has been discussing the possibility of flights for dogs for more than 10 years, while Meeker sought a way of traveling with his great huge Danish without having to put it and put it in the loading cellar of a plane.
The entertainment figures are not the only ones that have expressed interest in flying. Marks and high -end travel agencies have also communicated with first -class flights, as well as “every influence of the world,” jokes the marketing executive. But the company is in no hurry to take everyone on board as soon as possible.
“Actually, what we are trying to do is that we reduce this experience increasingly,” he explains. “And then, when we are ready to interact with large brands or celebrities or something, we have a solid product like a rock, and we have done it many times.”
Once the dogs and their humans arrive at the airport before their flight, the owner receives a meal prepared for chef while his four -legged friend meets his passenger teammates. The way dogs get along help the airline to organize the best seat table, joining more playful puppies towards the front of the plane and calmer towards the back.

“Dogs are free to sit next to the plane,” says Stangle. “They can walk and mix with other dogs if they wish. They can take a nap with you. We believe that dogs should have the amount of freedom that people have on airplanes because, ultimately, dogs are happier when they are right next to their person. ”
In addition to the flights, Bark Air will send a free car service to pick up dogs and people, provided they are within a radius of 30 miles from the airport. There are also cars once the flights land at the final destination, complete with signs that have the name of the dog instead of the human.
Bark Air launched with only two routes in an effort to connect some of the longest distances that are not practical, or even possible, to drive with their dog, such as NYC and the NYC and London. However, it will not spend much time before the airline begins to fly to other parts of the world. In October, Bark Air will have New York flights to Paris for $ 8,500, and from May 29, the company had another 22,000 suggestions for the routes that people want to see them expand.
As the autumn months approach, Stangle’s actions will probably add a route between New York and Florida due to snow birds that go to the south during the colder months. They are also interested in expanding to Chicago and Dallas, hoping to be able to fly among all those cities, instead of taking off mainly from New York.
Bark Air’s team is aware of how expensive its flights are and points to someday reduce prices to be more at the same time, or even cheaper than, a regular first -class ticket. “We do not want to stop until it is so easy to fly with your dog as with your child and, in many cases, probably easier,” he says, adding that they have a business plan but did not want to expand what it was at this time.
As for its final goal with Bark Air, Stangle says they want to redefine what really means “friendly for dogs” when it comes to traveling.
“We care about your dog,” says Stangle. “Our thought was: ‘Why don’t we go with the friendly with dogs? As, let’s not even think about the human because if you make a dog happy, you will make the parents of that dog happy. The person was a late occurrence, and we knew they would be happy. ”
